MCP & AI assistants

Use NetConverter
from your AI assistant.

Ask about your jobs, findings and supported migration paths from the assistant you already use. Available — your administrator enables MCP access.

Two ways in

Connect in a minute.
Or keep files local.

Both use your NetConverter account and the access your administrator grants.

Connect · No install

Add the hosted server

Add https://api.netconverter.ai/mcp/v1/ to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, Codex or Gemini CLI and sign in. Read-only: review jobs, evidence and knowledge without changing anything.

Install the terminal · Read and submit

Keep configurations on your machine

The NetConverter terminal reads and submits configuration files from a folder you choose. Configurations go straight to NetConverter; they never pass through the model.

Before you start

Three steps to access.

01

Have an account

Sign up at NetConverter and join your organization’s workspace.

02

Get MCP enabled

Your NetConverter administrator enables MCP access for your organization or for you.

03

Connect your assistant

Follow the steps for your client below and sign in with the same account.

04

Ask a question

“List my recent NetConverter jobs”, then “Is this conversion trustworthy?”

Connect · Hosted server

Set up your client.

Every client uses the same server address and your NetConverter sign-in. Client menus change often; if a label differs, use the nearest equivalent in your client’s MCP settings.

ChatGPTTested by NetConverter · October 21, 2026
  1. In ChatGPT on the web, open Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode. On Business and Enterprise workspaces, a workspace admin may need to allow custom connectors first.
  2. Choose Create (or + → Add custom MCP server).
  3. Name: NetConverter. MCP server URL: https://api.netconverter.ai/mcp/v1/ (keep the trailing slash).
  4. Authentication: OAuth. Leave the client ID and secret empty.
  5. Confirm you trust the app and choose Create, then sign in with your NetConverter account and approve the consent screen.
  6. In a new chat, turn on NetConverter from the + menu and ask: “List my NetConverter jobs.”
Claude (claude.ai and Claude Desktop)
  1. Open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Name: NetConverter. Remote MCP server URL: https://api.netconverter.ai/mcp/v1/.
  3. Leave the advanced OAuth settings empty and choose Add.
  4. Choose Connect, sign in with your NetConverter account and approve the consent screen.
  5. In a new chat, enable NetConverter from the tools menu and ask: “List my five most recent NetConverter jobs.”

Team and Enterprise: an owner adds the connector once under Organization settings → Connectors; each member then connects and signs in as themselves.

Claude CodeTested by NetConverter · October 18, 2026

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "netconverter": { "url": "https://api.netconverter.ai/mcp/v1/" }
  }
}
  1. NetConverter shows Needs login. Choose it, then sign in with your NetConverter account.
  2. In Agent chat, ask: “List my NetConverter jobs.”
VS Code and GitHub Copilot
  1. Run MCP: Add Server from the Command Palette and choose HTTP, or create .vscode/mcp.json:

  }
}
  1. Start the server and allow VS Code to sign in; complete the NetConverter sign-in in your browser.
  2. In Copilot Chat (Agent mode), open Configure Tools to see the NetConverter tools.

  2. Start codex and type /mcp to see the NetConverter tools.
Gemini CLI
  1. Add the server to ~/.gemini/settings.json:
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "netconverter": { "httpUrl": "https://api.netconverter.ai/mcp/v1/" }
  }
}
  1. Start gemini and run /mcp auth netconverter, then sign in with your NetConverter account.
  2. Run /mcp to see the NetConverter tools.

If sign-in doesn’t work

“External MCP is not enabled for this account” means your administrator has not enabled MCP access for you yet. If your client cannot complete the browser sign-in, ask your administrator for an API key with MCP access and send it as the header Authorization: Bearer nck_live_…. Never paste a key into a shared file or repository.

For your IDE and agents

Teach your assistant
how to use NetConverter.

Give your assistant the setup steps and working rules: submit files by path, start every review from the evidence and never overstate a result.

Markdown · Any assistant

Instructions file

Save it in your project as AGENTS.md, CLAUDE.md, GEMINI.md, .github/copilot-instructions.md or .cursor/rules/netconverter.md, or add it to the one you have. Your assistant can then connect NetConverter for you.

A fuller playbook for Claude: submit, wait, review the evidence, drill into NAT, policy and routes, and answer knowledge questions. Upload it in Claude under Settings → Capabilities → Skills, or unzip it into ~/.claude/skills/ for Claude Code.

Install the terminal · Read and submit

Your files stay on
your machine.

One line installs the NetConverter CLI, signs you in and connects your AI assistants to a workspace folder. Your assistant passes a file path; the terminal reads the file and uploads it straight to NetConverter. The assistant sees paths, job IDs and summaries, never the configuration.

macOS and Linux

curl -LsSf https://netconverter.ai/install.sh | sh

Windows (PowerShell)

irm https://netconverter.ai/install.ps1 | iex

Default workspace folder: ~/migrations. Options: --yes (no prompts, for IT and device management), --no-connect, --workspace PATH; for example curl -LsSf https://netconverter.ai/install.sh | sh -s -- --yes --workspace ~/configs. Running it again only does what is missing. Read the scripts first: install.sh · install.ps1 · source on GitHub.
