Convert, review and resume

Run supported jobs from the terminal and keep the generated files and evidence together.

Convert a configuration

Check netconverter capabilities for the source, target and operation allowed by your credential. For an account offering ASA to Palo Alto XML:

netconverter convert demo-asa.cfg --vendor cisco_asa --to palo_alto_xml

This command submits the selected configuration to the hosted service. In the interactive app, /convert takes you through file selection, source detection, target choice, supported settings and submission. Confirm detected values instead of assuming detection is correct.

Keep conversion decisions explicit

Mappings and supported options can travel as a YAML v2 decisions document. Use the schema and fields offered for the selected path. Do not invent zone or interface mappings from an assistant’s guess. The detailed command reference explains the supported yaml_v2 forms.

Revisioned drafts and multi-device project adapters are development previews that require explicit matching server capabilities. An ordinary MCP connection does not enable or qualify them.

Validate and optimize

netconverter validate demo-asa.cfg --vendor cisco_asa

Each command is a separate hosted request. Only run operations your credential offers. Optimization findings are recommendations to review; the client does not apply them to a live device.

Review the downloaded files

Depending on the job, outputs can include a translated configuration, a structured report and an evidence workbook. File names include the job ID. Downloads verify length and SHA-256 before writing, and preserve a different existing file rather than overwriting it.

Read NEEDS REVIEW and BLOCKED findings before using an output. Router and switch results remain subject to engineer review; see platform limits. Artifact hashes are transfer checks, not proof of target behavior.

Resume interrupted work

netconverter jobs
netconverter resume JOB_ID

Replace JOB_ID with the real ID. In the app, /jobs, /resume JOB_ID and /activity help you return to work and inspect bridge activity. Closing a question with Esc does not cancel a submitted server job.
